MCA Admission Policy
- Our school is available to parents and legal guardians who agree to support the beliefs, policies and procedures of Monmouth Christian Academy. Interested parents and students must be interviewed by MCA Staff, and submit an application and a nonrefundable application fee per family to the school office. Children of members of Maranatha Baptist Church will be given priority.
- Our school admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to the students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions, athletics, and other school-administered programs.
- Our school is an educational ministry of Maranatha Baptist Church. Therefore, parents must agree to support our Doctrinal Statement.
- A child should be six by December 31, to be eligible for enrollment in MCA.
- Students age six (unfamiliar with reading) may enroll in our Learning-to-Read Program.
- Should the school feel it is necessary, a probationary period may be defined. A probation period is defined as a certain amount of time determined by MCA Staff in which the student is evaluated concerning his or her continuing enrollment in MCA.
- Entrance is not based upon I.Q. or achievement ability. Grade and curriculum placement will be based on MCA diagnostic tests and the student's transcripts.
- A child may not be admitted if he or she:
- Has been arrested or convicted of a crime.
- Engaged in any illegal activity.
- Uses tobacco products.
- Has been dismissed or expelled from any other educational institution.
- Is or has been married.
- Is a discipline problem.
- New students must have current medical information from a licensed physician and submit a medical history form, including all immunization records (or exemption information) before admittance.
- Parents and prospective students (13 years old and older) must read the MCA Handbook.
- Parents must attend a 2-hour orientation session. Failure to attend may result in the student not being permitted to attend the academy.
- Students 13 years old and older (and a parent or guardian) must agree to and sign a Standard of Conduct Form yearly.
- Parents must agree to our statements and procedures as explained in the MCA Handbook. They must then sign a Parent-Guardian Contract, indicating their agreement with MCA's policies.
- Parents must fill out a Re-enrollment Form in April to guarantee acceptance for the following school year. All applications for re- enrollment will be approved at the sole discretion of MCA Staff.
- All academic records from the school previously attended must be in the school office within a month of admittance to MCA.
